FASHION - My Favorites Fashion Designers #4 - THIERRY MUGLER

Well, what a Designer. Thierry was born on Strasbourg and moved to Paris when he was 24 years-old. He launched his first collection in 1973 and called it "Café de Paris". 5 years later, he opened his first boutique in Paris and in 1992, as a request of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture he launched his first haute couture collection.

In 2010, Nicola Formichetti assumed
the role of Creative Director and he
changed the name of the brand to "MUGLER".

Nicola also done the first mans collection of the brand and

made Lady Gaga entering on a runway and that was a huge success.

Mugler's clothes are completely insane, full of movement and very conceptual. He plays with forms, cuts, patterns, tissues and many materials (the blue coat ant trousers you can see on the upper photo are made of latex). For men, Mugler designs a structured silhouette of the men's shoulders, they are classic and anatomic at the same time. For woman, he designs lots of dresses, with high fashion cuts, modern, actual and chocking but still classy.

                      But, at the same time, he stays very conceptual, with eccentric and wacky designs.

Bom, que criador! Thierry nasceu em Strasbourg and mudou-se para Paris quando tinha 24 anos. Lançou a sua primeira colecção em 1973 chamada "Café de Paris". 5 anos depois, abriu a sua primeira loja também em Paris e em 1992, a pedido do Chambre Symdicale de la Haute Couture, lançou a sua primeira colecção de alta costura.

Em 2010, Nicola Formichetti, assumiu o papel de Director Criativo e modou o nome da marca para "MUGLER". Nicola também fez a primeira colecção masculina da marca e convidou a Lady Gaga para desfilar, fazendo o maior sucesso.

As criações de Mugler são completamente loucas, cheias de movimentos e super conceptuais. Ele brinca com formas, cortes, padrões e imensos materiais (o casaco azul e as calças que podem ver nas fotografias em cima são feitas de latex). Para homem, Mugler desenha uma silhueta estruturada dos ombros masculinos, são clássicos e anatómicos ao mesmo tempo. Para mulher, desenha imensos vestidos, com cortes high fashion, modernos, actuais, chocantes, mas sempre classy.

FASHION - Trends #2 : HOLOGRAM/HOLOGRAPHIC PATTERN

Started on 2013, and probably questionable in terms of working or not at first sight, this hologram trend is here to stay. Many famous used clutches, shoes and dresses on red carpets, shows and Awards Ceremonies. You can find this pattern almost in everything - shoes, clothes, accessories, phone cases, earphones, nailpolish... You decide where do you want to put it! Personally, I'd love to have a pair of holographic sandals on my closet.

Começada em 2013, e provavelmente questionável se funciona ou não olhando á primeira vista, esta hologram trend veio para ficar. Imensos famosos tem usado clutches, sapatos e vestidos em red carpets, espectaculos e ceremónias de entrega de prémios. Podes encontrar esta trend em quase tudo - sapatos, roupa, acessórios, capas de telemóvel phones, vernizes... Tu decides onde é que queres que ele esteja! Pessoalmente, adorava ter um par destas holographic sandals no meu closet.

FASHION - What to Wear #1 - ACID WASH DENIM

Acid Wash: USE AND ABUSE!

This trend make us turn back to the 90's all over again and listen to our parents telling us "I used that jeans a hundred times, they were so in!", "I had a lot of jackets like this." or "I can't believe you're wearing that, that's what I used when I was your age!". Well, the acid wash has been improved since the 90's, they exist now in many colors (black, red and purple, for example) in many formats and models, so you can always find a model that your parents didn't use in any store like Topshop or H&M. Or, if you enjoy recycling clothes from you mum, dad, grandma, friends or find real treasures in second hand stores, I'm sure you'll find thousands and thousand of things with this pattern!

Esta trend faz-nos voltar aos anos 90 e ouvir os nossos pais dizer "Usei essas calças imensas vezes, estavam tão na moda!", "Tinha imensos casacos assim" ou "Não acredito que estás a usar isso, era o que eu usava quando tinha a tua idade!" Bom, o acid wash tem sido melhorado ao longo dos anos e agora existe em imensas cores (preto, vermelho e roxo, por exemplo) em imensos formatos e modelos, por isso podes sempre encontrar um modelos que os teus pais não usaram em lojas como

a Topshop ou a  H&M. Ou, se gostas de reciclar roupa do armário da tua mãe, pai, avó ou encontrar tesouros em lojas de segunda mão, tenho a certeza que vais encontrar mil e uma coisas assim!

What a GORGEOUS designer! He'd done such an amazing work with all the detailed embroidery, sequins and complicated patterns. A guy to remember, a truly inspiration.
